I think Tamte is in Manaus too. Language is a problem. I am interested in Manaus. Ponta Negra was no more than an open air brothel. I hear that that area in Manaus was famous for its high rate of aids. Yes lots of girls in Manaus, but mostly ugly. He can always go to one of the many forro places there.
God only knows why. Manaus has some great places to go out and drink and have a good time. Not only crappy forro with dirty faveladas. However, Manaus is a boring place when you are by yourself. Ugly cheap hookers at Remolus, beautiful but 3 times more expensive hookers at Kiss if you are only after sex. Here, if you go out to a club, you will see girls that you already know. And the fofocas will start, even for the single guys. My last trip to Manaus we had 40 degrees, it was so hot I had chest pains just walking up to the nearest water hole from the hotel meters up the street.
The only time you ever want to go to Manaus is to take a days river cruise up the amazon river with plenty of cold beer available! Manaus, in my opinion, is a noisy, dirty, hot and sticky place. I just arrived a couple days ago. The place seems to be interesting but I have to use a taxi to get everywhere so it can be expensive.
Anyone still around? I am from Manaus live in Canada just came back from MAO and I do not think it is boringβ¦maybe you have not found the right people to entertain you or to show you aroundβ¦. I will be here for 6 months. I am over by the Circle next to the industrial area. I have been going out and having more fun now. It would be great to meet locals though.
I plan on traveling to Manaus later this year. I want to stay in an area close to the good nightlife. From looking at a map of Manaus, it appears that Ponta Negra is almost 20km away from the city center of Manaus.
